So Close, Yet so Far

Unfortunately we're closer to Pittsburgh than Philly.

On Our Way Home

Just gassed up and about to head out on the road.
We will officially be home today around 4:30 pm ET.
Should be uneventful today, full of tolls just like yesterday. East coast and tolls, what's up with that?

Ohio

Well not much to see lately. The dogs are battling over some prime space now that Olive has new found confidence.
Just grabbing lunch right now, and we'll be at our hotel in a little over an hour, in Independence, OH just outside of Cleveland.
Our last night on the road, finally. These last couple days have been tough, tired and sick of packing the truck each day. I'm ready for a good night sleep and I know Lin could do with the same, not to mention a normal meal. Hopefully the baby adapts to the new time zone soon.

I spoke to the movers and they plan on arriving between 9am and 10am on Sunday. Hopefully the big rig will fit. Might be tricky getting there.  Cross your fingers.

Peace out homies.

Leaving Aspen To Kearney, NE

Well this morning went better than expected. I had to get new wiper blades and get air in all the tires. We ended up finding the perfect place to take care of us right away. Any way, we came out of Aspen where it cleared but then started a climb through the mountains, snowy, icy and a bit slow.
Once we cleared the rockies things opened up and then I realized how huge Colorado is.  Mostly all farm land.  Not too picturesque from there to Nebraska so just more of the same as far as photos. These pictures are while we were heading out of Aspen and then the rockies.

By the way, I think I said Columbus, OH but we're actually staying in Cleveland on Friday.

Lin and baby are doing great! He/she is running out of real estate in there and not too pleased.

The dogs are good, Olive is becoming quite the traveler.

Talk to you soon.

Aspen

Our last day in Aspen. We still have to go out to dinner tonight, which should be great!
As for tomorrow, our original plans for Kansas been changed. We're going to try and cut a day out of our travels so we're taking a shorter route. Not to mention, the hotel we were going to stay at in Oberlin, KS fell through. So, we're also not traveling to Missouri or Cincy, OH. Instead, we're heading to Kearney, NE area tomorrow morning, then to Davenport, Iowa, and finally to Colombus, OH on Friday. We should be home by Saturday night.
Talk to you soon!

A Stop at Virgin River Canyon

We pulled off on the trip yesterday and found this great camp groung. This was in Utah. Enjoy!

I Guess We Do Look As Tired As We Are

Our 1st meal without dog breath. I needed the drink.
This is our first night in Aspen.  The kids are "asleep" in their crates, and we needed a sit down dinner, so we rushed out.
Tomorrow should be a nice full day in town, no driving.  The hotel is right in down town, so we can walk everywhere. More to come once we get settled in.

A Small bit of Arizona, Then Through Utah

Today has been beautiful. We're half way to Aspen.  Another 5 hrs to go after lunch.
We pushed it a bit much through the desert, but apparently that sign did mean no service stops for another 110 miles.
We'll post more photos once we get to Aspen, since these are all taken with my phone.

Slow Start. But made Good Time

Well we finally made it out of the city by 11 this morning. We made a few stops for food and gas but nothing spectacular.  Blew through Vegas and 2 hours later we made it to our little shady pitch black motel in Overton, NV.  I'm hoping it turns beautiful when the suns out. But to be honest it could go either way, most likely disturbing.

Any way, Olive warmed up nice to the trip, eventually making it out of her cave to hang with us.  Rod just laid down and stared out the window.

Lin did great! Just a few bathroom stops but, nothing crazy.

Enjoy the photos, more to come.
